Pottery Raffle for Japan


Monohanako West is raffling three prizes of fine pottery to raise money for those in need in Japan. 100% of donations will go to the Japanese Red Cross. Hanako Nakazato is a 13th generation potter who lives part time in her hometown of Karatsu, Japan, and the rest of the year in Union Maine, USA. Hanako writes, "I believe a collective effort can make a huge impact on the world."

The 3 winners will be chosen using Random.org on April 30th

A group of Seattle based artists successfully raised $86,000 during a two day art sale to benefit Japan. All proceeds from donated art (paintings, drawings, calligraphy, sumi-e, ceramics, jewelry, sculpture, prints, and more) went to relief causes. Modern Relief Quilt Raffle



Modern Relief has decided once again to bring the modern sewing community together in the name of fundraising for the relief efforts in the wake of the devastating earthquake and tsunami in Japan.

What you can do?

Quilts for Quake Survivors in Japan



Two fabric artists, Daniela and Susan, teamed up to form Quilts for Quake Surviors. Together they are hosting workshops in Portland, OR and other places to create a collection of community-made handmade log cabin quilts leading up to a show + live auction event in Portland on May 11th.
All proceeds (100%) will be donated to a charitable organization.

What you can do?
1. Donate fabric cut to 2″ wide fabric strips or assemble some of those strips in simple log cabin quilt squares.
